Our promise

No pet at the Ark is ever on a clock.

We're a no-kill sanctuary: each pet in our care receives food, medical attention, and patient love until the right family finds them. Some matches happen quickly; others take time — but every adoption is made with thought and care.

Meet the residents

Luna
Dog · Female

Luna

2 years

Golden Retriever Mix

Luna was found wandering a back road in Texas, ribs showing and tail still wagging. Six months of foster love later, she has grown into a sun-drenched golden girl who naps in patches of light and brings you her favorite tennis ball every morning at 7:02 sharp. She is looking for a family who will run with her, hike with her, and let her sleep at the foot of the bed.

Milo

4 years

Tuxedo Domestic Shorthair

Milo arrived at our shelter in a cardboard box outside a Brooklyn bodega. The volunteers say he greeted them like an old friend. Today he is the unofficial mayor of the cat room, a head-butt enthusiast, and a connoisseur of cardboard boxes of any size. He would love a quiet apartment with a sunny window and a human who works from home.

Biscuit

5 years

Beagle

Biscuit spent the first four years of his life in a rural breeding facility. When he stepped onto grass for the first time, he froze, then sprinted in a wide, joyful circle. He has discovered squeaky toys, peanut butter, and the unfathomable bliss of belly rubs. Biscuit is gentle with everyone he meets and is ready to learn what a forever couch feels like.

Willow

1 year

Calico

Born under a porch in Portland, Willow is a patchwork of orange, black, and white with eyes the color of new pennies. She is playful, fast, and has an absolutely terrible hiding spot (your laundry basket). She would thrive with another young cat or kitten to chase up and down the hallway at 3 a.m.

Rocco

6 years

Pit Bull Terrier

Rocco is the gentle giant your grandmother warned you not to believe in. Surrendered when his elderly owner could no longer care for him, he has been waiting patiently for 11 months. He knows sit, shake, and the exact angle of the couch that maximizes belly exposure. He loves slow walks, soft blankets, and being told he is a good boy (repeatedly).
