Milo arrived at our shelter in a cardboard box outside a Brooklyn bodega. The volunteers say he greeted them like an old friend. Today he is the unofficial mayor of the cat room, a head-butt enthusiast, and a connoisseur of cardboard boxes of any size. He would love a quiet apartment with a sunny window and a human who works from home.

Biscuit spent the first four years of his life in a rural breeding facility. When he stepped onto grass for the first time, he froze, then sprinted in a wide, joyful circle. Born under a porch in Portland, Willow is a patchwork of orange, black, and white with eyes the color of new pennies. She is playful, fast, and has an absolutely terrible hiding spot (your laundry basket). She would thrive with another young cat or kitten to chase up and down the hallway at 3 a.m.

Rocco is the gentle giant your grandmother warned you not to believe in. Surrendered when his elderly owner could no longer care for him, he has been waiting patiently for 11 months. He knows sit, shake, and the exact angle of the couch that maximizes belly exposure. He loves slow walks, soft blankets, and being told he is a good boy (repeatedly).
